Extra Content Checklist (Recommended)

Not all websites include a lot of information... however those that do are most successful! We strongly recommend that you have as much content and pages as possible, as this will significantly help with your SEO (search engine optimisation) and improve your chances of getting found by new customers. Plus, as long as what you are adding is useful, it will also help to convince those that are browsing to proceed to book!

The following isn’t required for your new website to go live, but are suggestions that we would recommend you include to give your website the best chances of attracting guests and converting visitors into direct bookings. As with all parts of your website, you can easily add or amend the content at any time. 
Holiday Ideas
We have a specific page creator that allows you to increase the footprint of your website (without cluttering it) with pages that are designed to entice new customers. By creating pages that target different types of customer will increase your chances of appearing in search results and being found. We recommend creating as many holiday ideas as possible, think along the lines of " Holiday accommodation for <type of guest> in <County>", " Pet friendly cottage <Town>", " <Activity> holiday in <local area>", " Accommodation near <attraction>" etc... https://help.staytech.co.uk/article/24-holiday-ideas.

Top Tip: A holiday idea is a landing page (a means of entering a website) and you can literally create hundreds of these to provide yourself with the best chances of inbound traffic. Make use you make the most out of our easy to use page creator and aim for approximately 150 words/800 characters and include at least 3 accompanying images  per page. For more information and ideas, see this guide.

Destination Pages
Your website automatically creates location based pages that sit in the background of your website. We recommend that you add your own content to these, with descriptions of each place and accompanying images. Your property listings will then sit underneath, displaying the blurb, key features, main property image and an availability button. If, for example, a property is based in 'Lyme Regis', you will have pages that exist for the ' UK' ( /destinations/uk), ' England' ( /destinations/uk-england), ' Dorset' ( /destinations/uk-england-dorset) and ' Lyme Regis' ( /destinations/uk-england-dorset-lyme-regis).

Top Tip: Your destination pages are very unlikely to reach page one for a search of your Country or County. However, searching for a specific place, like a village, will often only display a handful of relevant pages and presents you with a great opportunity to compete for less competitive rankings. So if you include a great account of your local area, with images that you have taken (and don't exist on other websites) you might just find yourself appearing highly (if not on page one!) 

Chargeable Extras
If you have plans to offer ‘Add ons’, you can create an e-commerce page for your website to promote wares (eg. a food hamper of local produce) or additional services (such as a tutored lessons in surfing/painting etc.) Your guests can view what you have on offer prior to placing their booking, but will also be able to see the choices within the guest portal and purchase. Testimonials
If you have any reviews from guests, it makes sense to create a dedicated page of your customer's feedback. This can help convince a guest to book, without them needing to leave your website and look for testimonials elsewhere. You can also display a small snippet of a review on each Property's overview page. Things to do
We have an interactive map page creator, that allows you to make a really intuitive page that displays your property in relation to your recommended places to visit. By first creating categories such as “Things to do”, "Eat & Drink" & "Places of interest" etc. you give the page structure and order. Top Tip: Today's guests are equally browsing for holidays as much as they are for accommodation, so make sure your visitors aren't looking elsewhere for places to eat or days out suggestions - as this means they've left your website! This is also a great chance to really promote your local area, demonstrate your expertise as a guide and build the holiday experience.

FAQ's

Creating a page that answers commonly asked questions and addresses those mundane points or policies can be really useful for potential guests - especially those who are on the cusp of deciding and need a little convincing or reassurance. You can touch on your cancellation policy, room configurations, when the balance needs to be paid by, post COVID-19 practises etc. We suggest that you create this as a property content page, as it may include the convincing

Pets
Regardless if you have mentioned pets elsewhere, a dedicated page about your policy and offering is recommended. You can either elaborate and say we don’t accept “Because of allergens for other guests...” or say “We charge £30 per dog to allow for the extra cleaning...” and list additional dog friendly related points. Why not expand upon the rules within the house, why the garden is great, nearby walking routes, dog friendly pubs, do you provide a dog welcome pack? etc. https://help.staytech.co.uk/article/101-property-content-pages

History
Does the property have an interesting past, or do you have any background information on the local area? Guests may be interested to know a bit about its history, its age and what it was once used for. You could include old images (if you have them) explain about any major refurbishment, or how it is still today as it was back in yesteryear etc. Whilst this may not appeal to everyone, having a page that discusses the properties past may attract new website visitors who are curious about the area. The system creates a blank content page for you titled "About Us", available via /content/about-us and an automatically placed navigational menu.
