Importing a booking

Your StayTech website has a powerful booking engine that is designed to improve your customer's experience and save you valuable time.

Even if the booking didn't originate from your site, we strongly advise that you add it to the system. This will in turn update any other calendars your website is connected to.

Entering all of your bookings will also populate your Channel Report, which breaks down how your guests found you in the first place. Use this in combination with your Channel Spend, to see how much each booking actually costs you and it's conversion rate.

The system can also send out feedback requests after a stay. This email is professionally templated with your branding and links back to your website. Potentially this is the first time that they have visited your site and likely to be the last correspondence that the guest receives regarding their booking. If they decide to return in the future, this will increase the likelihood of them choosing to book direct, rather than going back to an online travel agent or agency.

Adding a booking

Once logged into the backend of your website, select 'Bookings' from the main menu on the left. Then click 'Add Booking' in the top right corner.

You will notice that the 'Basics' tab is selected at the top, fill out the details on this page. Continue to fill out the 'Details' and 'Lead Booker' sections with the relevant information. The 'Notes' tab lets you enter additional information - chose the relevant box for it to be hidden or visible to the guest.

Finish with 'Create' at the bottom of the page.

It might be confusing for a guest who has booked to stay at your property through let's say Airbnb or Booking.com, to then receive conflicting correspondence about their booking from your site.

So we recommend that if the booking is not being managed by your StayTech website, such as those added from other channels, to have its Communication reminders turned off. These would typically send out automated emails chasing for payments etc.

To disable Notifications, first select 'Bookings' from the main menu on the left. Next chose the relevant booking that you want to adjust. In the smaller submenu underneath the image of your property, click 'Details/Edit'. Scrolling to the bottom of the page you will notice the 'Communication' section - deselect the 'Send Reminders' and 'Send Updates'. As when changing any settings in the admin, make sure you select the 'Update' button.
