Provisional Bookings

A Provisional booking is one that has been partially created on the system but has not been confirmed because either the guest hasn't made any payments towards it and/or they have not agreed to your booking terms & conditions.

Provisional Bookings are highlighted in green when viewed from your website's admin

There is more than one method of placing a booking on the StayTech platform and this will differ slightly depending on how you have set up your website (or whether you are using Lite or Full). Similarly, you can create bookings on the behalf of your guests via your site's backend, and your customers can do so themselves via a properties Prices & Availability page.

Guests

When you are setting up your calendar, within Seasons, you have the option to enable 'Online Bookings' - this allows guests to click through to the checkout from your calendar, where they can complete the form and proceed to pay the deposit.

Customers may also use one of your enquiry forms, such as the one on your Contact Us page to get in touch. However, completing one of these forms will not take the guest to the checkout and instead will require you to respond via the Enquiries section of your backend (or via email/phone).

If you do not want your guests to be able to make bookings themselves via your calendar, then make sure that your seasons have the 'Online Bookings' button disabled.

Owner

Once logged into your site you can either create a Booking or a Booking Offer. Creating a Booking, will require you to fill out all of the form (property, value of booking, dates, name, no. of guests, contact information etc.) whilst a Booking Offer allows you to send a partially filled form to the guest for them to fill out.

Please note: All bookings are marked as provisional until a guest has both agreed to your booking terms & conditions, and made a payment towards your stay

So a provisional booking can be placed by a Guest via your calendar if you have pricing and Online Bookings enabled, or if you create the Booking on their behalf via your websites backend, or send the guest a Booking Offer.

The Booking will stay provisional until the guest agrees to the Terms and Conditions and pays the Booking Deposit.
