Override Meta Tags

The StayTech platform automatically generates Meta tags for all of your pages. These help to organise and present your content to search engines so that they are more easily understood, an in turn increase their likelihood of appearing in search engine results. 

  • Meta Title - This appears within the tab of your browser, when sharing a URL and is also the large bold text that you can see within search engine result pages (SERPs). It should be unique to the specific page and approximately 50 characters long.
  • Meta Description - This is a small blurb that should be between 120 - 160 characters and will display underneath a pages Meta Title within search engine result pages (SERPs) and may help to convince a reader to click on your page.
  • Meta Keywords - There is no evidence that suggests that adding Meta Keywords will help with SEO (Search engine optimisation) however these allow you to add additional words to the background of a page that can be read by search engines.
  • Alternative Text - Commonly known as Alt Text, this is a description given to an image that can describe what it depicts. It's used by the likes of Google Image search to find images, as well as those with accessibility issues who use screen readers.

Overriding Meta Tags

You can override the Meta Title, Meta Description, Keywords for the following pages by navigating to the "I wish to override the 'Meta Tags' for this Content Pag e" tickbox at the bottom of the page's editor.
