Booking Expiration

You can now set Bookings to expire if you haven't received payment by default. Simply select how many hours you would like to give a guest to pay the Deposit, and if no payment is received within the timeframe, then the booking will automatically be cancelled.

Site Settings > Settings > Booking Expiration (in hours)

You can still override when a Lead Booker needs to pay, by going to the Details/Edit section of a Booking, as well as changing how much and putting a Booking on Hold

Once enabled, this will be visible to your guests at the checkout with a prominent banner that says: "This is a provisional booking and will expire if the deposit is not paid within X hours."

When the guest completes the checkout form, they will see a similar banner that explains again and states the exact time the Booking Deposit or Full balance (if it is a last minute Booking) needs to be paid: "This is a provisional booking and will expire if the deposit is not paid by DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM"

If the guest does not pay within the set time frame, the Booking will automatically expire, and send a cancellation email to the Lead Booker with a link for them to Rebook https://help.staytech.co.uk/article/219-expired-booking-emali

Tip: If you don't already, we suggest that you encourage guests to contact you when making payment via bank transfer; this way you can update the Financials of a Booking as soon as they have paid and prevent the Booking from unnecessarily expiring. You can update your Offline Payment Instructions via these instructions.
